A Line of Business (short: LOB) often refers to an internal corporate business unit, whereas the term “industry” refers to an external view that includes all competitors competing in a similar market.

Examples in the legacy world: e.g. Sales, Marketing, etc.

In the digital world these would be e.g. Digital Sales, Digital Marketing, etc.
