Meme is a visual content, consisting of pictures and videos, for example, often with text or hash tags. In this way, Memes can take on a new meaning and can be interpreted in a different way. But also a company’s advertising message, a scene from a movie, a line in a song or a certain dance move can be transformed into a meme. Memes are very popular on the Internet and spread extremely quickly. The term Internet phenomenon is used especially for memes spread via the Internet. Memes often tap into current topics or well-known series and are generally amusing. They can also be seen as inside jokes for certain fan bases.
