An App Store is a virtual “marketplace” from which users can purchase apps. Companies like Google or Apple have very well-known stores that also take care of billing. This makes these stores large platforms that bring users and developers together. The goal is to create a digital ecosystem.

In addition, some large companies have an in-house App Store, through which their own apps are made available to employees.

Why this is interesting for a Chief Digital Officer (CDO)?
Mobile is one of the pillars of the digital revolution. Many companies follow the Mobile First strategy. This means that software is created primarily for mobile devices. For this reason, this is important for a Chief Digital Officer (CDO).
