Disruption is a process that completely changes a common market or business model through a absolutely new innovation (game changer).

One of the best known examples is the innovation of the Apple iPhone that disrupted the known mobile phone market. They say a complete new market has been created: the smartphone market. Nokia suffered a lot due to this development. They were the biggest mobile manufacturer globally. Today they are a niche player.
