Enterprise Architecture (short: EA) is the digital architecture within the company. It describes the interaction of various IT components and the business activities of the company (Business-IT alignment). In order to promote and manage internal digitalization, an enterprise architecture is absolutely necessary.

The management of EA is called Enterprise Architecture Management (EAM). There are several frameworks for this purpose, such as TOGAF (or SAP EAM derived from it), Zachman, etc. .

Why this is interesting for a Chief Digital Officer (CDO)?
As a Chief Digital Officer (CDO) it is elementary to manage the digital architecture.
