The term Mobility 4.0 describes a new era in mobility, transport and partly also logistics. These changes are largely due to digitalization and the new opportunities that come with it.
Mobility 4.0 does not only refer to autonomously driving cars, but also includes the public transport network as well as the infrastructure and services in the mobility sector. In principle, the entire transport network and everything that moves within it should become even more networked. This means cars, pedestrians, traffic lights, information service providers, roads, motorways and even train routes will transmit and receive data and thus communicate with each other.
In general, locomotion will be made easier, more efficient and cleaner. In concrete terms, this means, for example, shortening travel times, enhancing the travel experience and reducing congestion.
